DreamCatcher consists of two sanctaries totaling 4000 acres of junipers and sage, arroyos, high desert grasslands, watering holes and steep rocky hillsides with no human neighbors for miles and miles.  They are the perfect places for once wild horses to recapture their independence and learn to be wild again.

Located in the North Eastern section of California-where wild and open places still exist- the sanctuaries are surrounded by pristine natural environments that teem with native plants and wildlife. Bald and golden eagles are every day occurrences as are antelope, deer, bobcats, cougars, badgers, prairie dogs, hawks and coyotes. The sanctuaries, due to their remote locations, are a paradise of open wildness for the mustangs to enjoy and thrive in.

The sanctuary in Termo also has an area set aside for hay production, pastures for our aged domestic horses, a large barn, numerous large paddock areas, a care takers residence and intern bunkhouse. To preserve the sense of wildness all power is supplied by state of the art solar panels and wind turbines.

The sanctuary in Sheep Rock near Mt. Shasta is home to intact family bands of wild horses and burros.  The family bands were documented during recent BLM roundups, followed during processing at short-term holding areas and then adopted and reunited at the sanctuary.
